123 Stableford Waltz – Tuesday, 20 January 2026

What a day out on the course! The sun was out, the breeze was light, and the banter was absolutely first-class. It’s fair to say the 123 Stableford Waltz produced some fantastic golf — and even better teamwork (most of the time).

Main Event Results – 18 Holes

1st Place:
Catherine Monaghan, Sharron Payne, Lyn Hoopes & Tyree Birch – a stunning 91 points – $30 each

2nd Place:
Genevieve Herron, Sue Brewin, Ngaire Hayes & Tilly Grant – a very tidy 88 points – $25 each

Birdies, Net Eagles & Other Notables

The birdie bell rang loud and proud on Hole 6, thanks to Ruby Lee, who swooped in to claim the Birdies Draw and a tidy $40 for her efforts.

Meanwhile, over on Hole 14, the Net Eagles Draw went to two sharp shooters — Karen Scott and Catherine Monaghan — who both pocketed $20 each. Nice work, ladies — that’s how it’s done!

And special mention to Ngaire Hayes, who pulled off a beauty with a Two on Hole 11, and took out the Nearest the Pin prize for good measure. That’s a combined $50 day for Ngaire — not bad going at all!

Longest Putt: Carole Smith – $10 (proof that sometimes a smooth roll beats brute strength).

9-Hole Waltz Winners

A big round of applause to Carolyn Rooney, Robyn Bannerman, Leonie Williamson, and Jackie Phillips, who took out the 9-hole 123 Waltz with a cracking 48 points, claiming the win by 2 points over second place. That’s what we call rhythm — clearly, this group can Waltz like pros!

Final Word

Another brilliant day at Queenstown Golf Club — perfect weather, great company, and some seriously good scoring (with the usual dose of friendly sledging, of course).
