Sunday Hidden Holes – 1 February 2026

Today’s competition was a bit of a twist — Hidden Holes, with scores counting on 14 holes excluding all four par 3s. So, if you thought you’d cruise on the short ones, the course had other plans!

The weather played its part perfectly — bright skies, a touch of warmth, and just enough breeze to keep things interesting. All in all, another fantastic Queenstown day for a hit (and a few muttered words under the breath).

Hidden Holes Results

1st: James Berryman – 37 pts – $40
2nd: Bill Grant – 33 pts – $30
3rd (tie): Matt Evans & Peter Sim – 31 pts – $25 each
5th (tie): Joe Potter & Adam Chesher – 30 pts – $20 each
7th: Tim Myers – 29 pts – $17
8th–10th (tie): Ben ParsonsJeri Elliot, and Richard Thomas – 28 pts – $15 each

A big field, some impressive scoring, and more than a few players wishing they’d known which holes were “hidden” before they teed off!

Two’s & Special Prizes

It wasn’t a par 3 competition day — but that didn’t stop a few sharp shooters from cashing in on the twos!

Two’s winners – $12 each:
Sam Lee, Allan Slater, Keith Munro, Tom James, Adam Chesher, Tilly Grant, Janet Slater, and Jaydee Oh

Nearest the Pin Hole 11:

  • Gillian Sim – $10

  • David Grant – $10

Longest Putt Hole 18:

  • Keith Munro – $10

Final Word

A great turnout, a few laughs, and plenty of discussion in the clubhouse about which holes should’ve been hidden instead. The Hidden Holes format always brings a bit of mystery (and mild confusion), but it’s all part of the fun.

Here’s to another cracking day on the course — same time next week, but maybe let’s bring back the par 3s for those who like a fighting chance!
