Tuesday Golf Wrap – LGU Round 2 & Men’s White Tee Medal

Would you believe it — that bright yellow thing in the sky finally made another cameo! After weeks of playing under varying shades of grey, the sun popped out and delivered a proper Queenstown summer’s day. A gentle breeze rolled in midway through, but overall it was a perfect day for golf, good company, and (for some) a few less putts than usual.

Ladies LGU – Round 2 Results

It was the second and final round of the LGU, and the ladies didn’t disappoint. The greens rolled beautifully, and the scores were tight — a fitting finish to a fine event.

4thKay Shaw – Net 73 – $25

? Lowest Putts by Division

The putters were running hot today — though some might say “lucky” is a more accurate word. Either way, here are the smoothest greens readers of the day:

  • Division 1: Suzanne Vidak29 putts$10

  • Division 2: Tyree Birch31 putts$10

  • Division 3: Jenny Browne31 putts$10

  • Division 4: Judy Farquharson35 putts$10

Well done, ladies — proof that sometimes it’s not about how far you hit it, but how little you need to hit it afterwards!

Men’s White Tee Net Medal

It was a small but quality field for the men’s competition today — just five players, but plenty of action nonetheless.

Tom James came out on top, taking Best Net for $35, along with Nearest the Pin and the Birdie Hole (#2).

At this rate, the IRD might start investigating Tom’s “golfing income stream.” If he keeps cashing in like this, we might have to start issuing him PAYE slips!

Final Word

Between the sunshine, the smooth greens, and some cracking scores, it was a great day out at Queenstown Golf Club. The LGU wrapped up in fine style, the men kept things competitive, and everyone left smiling (even those who three-putted on 18).

Let’s hope that glowing thing in the sky makes a regular appearance from now on — and that Tom James doesn’t need to hire an accountant by next weekend.

Have a great evening,
