Matchplay (Par) – Calm Day, Strong Scores

On a rare calm winter’s day, the course offered up no excuses — and plenty of players took full advantage. It was steady golf, clutch putting, and the odd touch of magic that defined today’s Par competition.

Overall Prize Winners

• 1st: Geoff McDonald – +6 – $35 – a superb round, keeping his cool from start to finish.

• 2nd: Euan Wilson – +4 – $30 – battling hard for second place.

• Tied 3rd: Danny King, Marie Wilkinson, David Grant and Kay Shaw – +3 – $25 – all finishing strong to claim a share of third.

• Tied 4th: Michael Wong, Richard Hogan and Luke Neal – +2 – $20 – tidy play in calm conditions.

• 5th: Mike Clement – +1 – $15 – rounding out the prizes to finish in the money.

Twos Winners

($10 each) – Luke Neal, Michael Wong, David Grant, and Lewis Ferguson all found the bottom of the cup in two. Cold hands, hot putting!

Highlight of the Day – Luke Neal on Hole 14

While the calm weather made scoring easier, it was Luke Neal’s chip-in on the 14th that stole the show. From off the green, he showed touch and composure, holing out to the delight of his playing group. Love your work!

Special Prizes

• Longest Putt – Hole 18: Andy Lowe – $10 credit – judged well on the last green to take out the prize.

• Nearest The Pin – Hole 11 (Men’s): Michael Wong – $10 credit – finding the target and finishing closest for the men.

• Nearest The Pin – Hole 11 (Ladies): Sue Wilson – $10 credit – good accuracy to claim the ladies’ prize.

Final Word

On a day without excuses from the weather, the quality of golf spoke for itself. Congratulations to all our winners and a special nod to Luke Neal for the highlight chip-in. A calm day on the course, but a lively one in the results!
