Thursday Stableford – 19 February 2026

Another classic Thursday out at Queenstown Golf Club — solid scoring, a few near misses, and at least one member heading home with pockets significantly heavier than when he arrived.

Conditions were kind enough for some good scoring, and the leaderboard reflected it, with plenty of players hovering in the high 30s.

Two’s Club

There were plenty of tidy short-game moments today, with the following players pocketing $9 each for their twos:

Colin Tanner, John McDowell, Tom James, Kim Wilkinson, Tony Moran, Robin Pimm, Pieter-Jan Werbrouck and Peter Waaka.

Nice touch around the greens, gents.

Birdies & Net Eagles

The Birdie Hole was #8, and four players split the spoils at $19 each:

  • Stephen Potts

  • Stephen Reid

  • Pieter-Jan Werbrouck

  • Tony Moran

The Net Eagle Hole was #11, and this is where things got very lucrative…

Tony Moran was the only one to strike — and he didn’t just dip into the pot, he cleaned it out entirely, pocketing a tidy $76 all on his own.

Add that to his third place finish, his two, and his birdie share, and it’s safe to say Tony had a very productive afternoon. If anyone saw him leaving the carpark slightly weighed down on one side, now you know why.

Special Prizes

  • Longest Putt: Holmes Byars – $10

  • Nearest the Pin: Tom James – $10

Tony’s Big Day

A special mention has to go to Tony Moran — third in the main event, a two, a share of the birdie pot, and the entire net eagle pool to himself. That’s what we call making the most of your Thursday afternoon.

We’ll expect the first round to be on him next week.

Another cracking day at Queenstown Golf Club — good scoring, good company, and plenty of stories to carry through to the weekend.

See you all next round.
