The first Skyline Charity Golf Classic was held in 1979 and the tournament has been continuously sponsored by Skyline ever since. We believe to be one of the longest continuous sports sponsorships within New Zealand.

Current Format
The tournament is a two-day pairs tournament. The scores from day 1 and 2 are added together to determine the winners. Over the 40 years there have been a number of different tournament formats however over the past few years we have had the following:
Saturday – Day 1: – Better Ball Stableford. This format takes the best score between the pair from each hole.
Sunday – Day 2: Combined Stableford. The individual scores of both players are added together at the conclusion of the round.
This is then added to the Saturday team score to find the Champions.

2025 - The Champions for 2025 are Jamie and Marcus Kirk with 127 stableford points over the two rounds.

What a cracker of a Skyline weekend! Another outstanding Classic is done and dusted — with just enough weather thrown in to test both our spirits and our umbrellas (and perhaps send a few of us looking for the nearest warming remedy!).
A massive congratulations to this year’s well-earned champions, Jamie and Marcus Kirk. After roughly ten attempts at the title — and at least one painful runner-up finish along the way — their consistency across both days finally delivered the win. Proof that persistence really does pay off!
The full final standings are available here in PDF format.
In the next few days, our Organising Committee will confirm the total funds raised for the Lakes District Hospital Foundation — and once again, it’s shaping up to be something we can all be incredibly proud of.
And for those already thinking ahead… lock in 28–29 November 2026.
There are plenty of exciting conversations ahead about how this iconic weekend continues to grow and give back to our Queenstown community — all with the wonderful support of the team at Skyline Queenstown.
