The Cart Club Welcomes a New Legend
It’s not every week we get to celebrate a milestone like this. A massive round of applause for Ron Carter, our most senior full playing member, who turned 90 last Tuesday. That means one very important thing — Ron now qualifies for free cart use for life. A small reward for a man who’s still turning up and showing us how it’s done. Ron teed it up with today’s field and proved that age is just a number… and 90 is a particularly impressive one!

Cake and celebrations in the Clubhouse and there goes that photobomber, again!
Stableford Showdown: Consistency is King
It was a strong field today, but none could match Corey Sinteur, who carved his way through the course to claim top spot with 42 points and a tidy $40 in winnings. He was closely followed by Andrew Gunn with 40, and a logjam of classy performances in the high 30s, including Kris Brewin, Athol Stephens, Mike Rivers, and Sam Tidswell.

Twos, Birdies and Net Eagles: Pin Seeker's Delight
It was raining twos on Holes 7 and 11 — and a few punters collected some crisp fivers along the way.
Two’s Club Highlights
-
Stephen Jensen – two twos, one each on Holes 7 & 11
-
Moon Kang, Rodney Clay, Mike Rivers, Corey Sinteur – Hole 7
-
Fraser MacLachlan, Jae Kim, Errol Frewen, Liz Jerram, Carl Bailey, Darren Hill – Hole 11 & 17 payouts.
Now for the money bits...
Birdie Bonanza
Net Eagles
Special Mention: Ace in the Pack!
Let’s pause to bow down to Moon Kang, who pulled off the golfing equivalent of winning Lotto. A hole-in-one on the 7th — two bounces, one cup, pure glory. And just to rub it in, he followed it up with a two, a payout for Longest Putt, and walked off with the $50 Acc Credit for a Hole-in One. Not a bad Thursday.
Accuracy and Touch Awards
-
Nearest the Pin (Men): Stephen Jensen – dialled in again
-
Nearest the Pin (Women): Marie Wilkinson – Was surprised it was still there when she came in but on the green counts.
-
Longest Putt: Moon Kang, just making sure he cashed in on every category.
Final Word from the Fairway
Today was the definition of “four seasons in one round.” Sun-drenched fairways with a brisk alpine breeze, thermals under polos and summer shorts clashing with beanies. But that’s September in Queenstown — unpredictable, glorious, and always golfable.
Whether you were chasing twos, tapping in net eagles, or just out for a wander and a waggle, thanks for making today another fantastic outing at Queenstown Golf Club.
Until next time — keep chasing birdies, respect your elders (especially if they’re shooting your age), and watch out for Moon Kang!
