Scores Heat Up as Weather Clears for a Cracking Afternoon of Golf
Despite a rather threatening start from the weather gods, those who showed patience and hung around were richly rewarded with a genuinely lovely afternoon for golf — a far cry from the gloomy conditions earlier in the day. Turns out optimism does occasionally pay off at Queenstown Golf Club.
Leading the charge today was Colin Tanner with a superb 22 points, narrowly edging Corey Sinteur on countback in a tightly fought battle at the top. Mike Rivers and Andrew Gunn weren’t far behind either with excellent rounds of 21 points.

Special prize honours went to Andrew Gunn, whose laser-like approach shot into Hole 7 earned him the Nearest to the Pin prize, courtesy of Life Pharmacy Wilkinson’s. Not to be outdone, Nigel Soper calmly negotiated a slippery downhill challenge on 9, rolling in a superb putt in excess of 20-feet to secure the Longest Putt prize thanks to Neat Meat. Fine touch under pressure from both players.
Thank you to everyone for coming out today. Thankfully, Saturday's weather looks more promising from the outset!
Have a great evening,
