Eight Brave Souls Battle the Elements in Tuesday Stableford

Tuesday’s Ladies 9 Hole Stableford may not have featured huge numbers, but the eight hearty souls who fronted up certainly earned their golfing stripes.

With damp fairways, cool temperatures and conditions better suited to hot chocolates than golf clubs, the ladies showed true commitment by braving the elements and getting around the course with smiles still mostly intact.

Despite the testing conditions, the scoring remained surprisingly solid. Carolyn Rooney and Julie Grant couldn’t be separated on 17 points, with Carolyn eventually claiming top honours on countback. In weather like that, simply keeping feeling in your fingers was an achievement — posting a winning score on top of it was even more impressive.
