Just when we thought we'd seen the best of the winter scoring, Neil Templeton had other ideas.

Only five weeks removed from smashing the Thursday club day record with 26 Stableford points, Neil somehow found another gear and bettered it yet again, producing an astonishing 27-point round. It's the sort of score that has fellow competitors checking the scorecard twice and wondering whether Neil accidentally played a few extra holes. Whatever the secret is, it's certainly working.

Neil's remarkable round left the rest of the field chasing, but there were still some excellent performances behind him. Lindsay Williams continued his good form with an impressive 22 points to claim second place, while Chef Rodney Clay cooked up another quality round of 20 points to round out the prize podium. It might not have been enough to catch Neil, but it was certainly enough to earn a well-deserved place in the money.

The scoring certainly didn't disappoint. With nine players finishing on 18 or 19 points, it was another tightly contested Thursday competition. Unfortunately for everyone else, Neil had already disappeared over the horizon before most players had reached the turn.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and especially to Neil for setting yet another benchmark. Breaking a record once is impressive... breaking your own record just five weeks later is something else. The rest of the Thursday field may be hoping Neil has finally reached his ceiling... although after today's performance, nobody seems particularly confident of that!
