The spring-like temperatures are continuing, and Thursday's 9 Hole Stableford was another reminder that Queenstown winter golf can sometimes feel suspiciously like spring!

The golf was warming up too, with some very handy scoring across the field. John Anderson took the honours with an excellent 21 Stableford points, narrowly holding off Darren Hill, who also finished on 21 points. A countback decision separated the two, giving John the top spot and Darren a very respectable runner-up finish.

And a special mention to Gillian Douglass, who quietly snuck her way onto the podium with a terrific 20 points to claim third place. Gillian was joined on 20 by Steve McDiarmid and Adam Patchett, but countback gave her the bragging rights and a well-earned spot among the prize winners.

Stableford Results

?? 1st – John Anderson – 21 pts – $30

?? 2nd – Darren Hill – 21 pts – $25

?? 3rd – Gillian Douglass – 20 pts – $19

4th – Steve McDiarmid – 20 pts – $19

5th – Adam Patchett – 20 pts – $19

6th – Grant Hardy – 19 pts – $12

7th – David Grant – 19 pts – $12

8th – Kris Brewin – 19 pts – $12

9th – Steve Moore – 19 pts – $12

Congratulations to John and Darren on their excellent 21-point rounds, and a particularly big well done to Gillian for sneaking into third and taking advantage of those spring-like conditions!

With the temperatures continuing to behave as though winter has forgotten which month it is, let's hope Mother Nature keeps this little run going. If August wants to keep pretending it's spring, we're certainly not going to complain!
