If anyone was hoping for a gentle winter's day, they were in for a rude awakening! A bitterly cold southerly greeted the field today, but that wasn't enough to scare off our members, with a whopping 46 competitors braving the conditions and heading out onto the course.
And despite the brutal conditions, the golf was seriously impressive. In the men's competition, you needed to play to your handicap or better just to get into the prizes. That's some quality golf when the wind is doing its best to make every shot considerably more difficult!
Leading the charge was David Walker, who produced a fantastic 22 Stableford points to take the win and $30. David Grant was hot on his heels with 21 points, while Lyndon Thomas rounded out the podium with an excellent 20 points.

Ladies' Stableford
Another congratulations to Frankie Galvin, who took out the ladies' competition with a very useful 17 Stableford points, earning $11 for her efforts.
Given the conditions today, that is a round worth being proud of. Well played, Frankie!
Special Prizes
Nearest to the Pin went to James Sowerby, whose very tidy approach to 5 feet on the 7th picked up the $20 Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Voucher. A handy prize on a day when keeping the ball anywhere near the target was an achievement in itself!
The Longest Putt prize went to Kim Wilkinson. The longest putt sat at 4 feet for most of the morning, that was until Kim arrived in one of the last groups of the day. He rolled one home from about 12 feet to earn the $25 Neat Meat Voucher.

A huge well done to all 46 competitors who braved the southerly and early rain today. With conditions like these, simply getting around the course was an achievement—but the scoring at the top of the leaderboard shows that some of you clearly didn't get the memo about how difficult it was supposed to be!
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend,
Mitch
