Tuesday's 9 Hole Ladies competition was another case of Queenstown winter golf asking some serious questions of the field. A very brisk southerly breeze kicked up and made conditions rather challenging, with the wind doing its best to turn a straightforward shot into something requiring a little more thought—and perhaps a little less confidence!
It certainly didn't deter Julie Grant, though. Julie clearly wasn't interested in letting the conditions dictate her golf, producing an excellent 21 Stableford points to take out today's competition and pocket the $25 first prize. A terrific effort in the breeze!
Sue Gain was hot on Julie's heels with 20 points to claim second, while Karen Mitchell, Sue Wilson and Fiona Arbuckle all finished on 19 points. Plenty of good golf considering the southerly was doing its best to make life difficult.

A Sue-perb Showing (see what I did there...)
It was a particularly good day for the Sue contingent, with four different Sues making their way into the prize money!
Of the Sue's amongst the prizes, Sue Gain led the charge in second, followed by Sue Wilson, with Sue Knowles and Sue Cunningham also getting themselves onto the payout sheet.
At this point we're wondering whether Tuesday competition entry should simply include a "Sue" box to tick. Four Sues in the prizes is either an impressive statistical coincidence... or they're organising something we haven't been told about!
Special Prizes
Jenny Browne added a little extra shine to her 18-point round by claiming the Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Nearest to the Pin prize and the $20 voucher.
Meanwhile, Kas Shera claimed the Neat Meat Longest Putt prize, taking home the $25 voucher.
Nearest to the Pin – Jenny Browne
$20 Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Voucher
Longest Putt – Kas Shera
$25 Neat Meat Voucher
A big congratulations to Julie on a terrific win, and to everyone who battled through the southerly. It may have been a bit wild out there, but the ladies once again proved that a stiff breeze is no reason to stay indoors.
And with four Sues in the prizes, we're beginning to think there might be strength in numbers!
