Sunday brought a bit of fun to Queenstown Golf Club with our Russian Roulette Pairs Stableford format. As the name suggests, you never quite know what's coming next, and that's all part of the fun! It was a chance to mix things up, enjoy a different challenge and see which partnerships could keep their cool when the golfing fortunes were spinning.

Whether you and your partner were perfectly in sync or relying on a little luck to get you through, Russian Roulette certainly gave everyone something to talk about back in the clubhouse!

Russian Roulette – Prize Winners

It was a close contest at the top, with our winning pair and the runners-up both finishing on 72 points. The team of Raphael Guyot De La Pommeraye and Sonny Clark edged into first place to take the $25 prize, while Matt Evans and David Grant followed closely behind with $20.

1st — Raphael Guyot De La Pommeraye & Sonny Clark — 72 points — $25ea

2nd — Matt Evans & David Grant — 72 points — $20ea

3rd — Bill Shaw & Kay Shaw — 68 points — $15ea

4th — Brett Anderson & Bradley Cross — 68 points — $15ea

5th — Lynda Baker & Jeri Elliot — 67 points — $12ea

A big congratulations to all our prize winners. With the scores so close, there was very little room for error — and in a format called Russian Roulette, perhaps keeping your nerve was just as important as keeping the ball in play!

Two's Money

There was just one solitary two recorded today, and it belonged to Bill Grant, who takes home a very handy $22 for his efforts.

Well done, Bill! When you're the only one to find the bottom of the cup in two, there's no need to share the spoils — sometimes it's nice when the golfing gods decide to put all their eggs in one basket!

A Fun Sunday on the Course

Formats like Russian Roulette are a great way to shake things up, enjoy a bit of friendly competition and remind ourselves that golf isn't always about chasing the perfect scorecard. Sometimes it's about having a laugh, backing your partner and seeing what the day throws at you.

Congratulations to all our prize winners, and thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy a fun Sunday at QTGC! Here's to more good golf, good company and the occasional lucky bounce along the way.
