SUNDAY RESULTS WRAP – 8 JUNE 2025
Queenstown Golf Club – Sunday Snowman Stableford
It was a cold one out there today – the kind of morning where your coffee freezes before your backswing. The first hour was spent tip-toeing across frosted greens as firm as concrete and just as forgiving.
But the cold didn’t stop everyone…
Karen Scott – Queen of the Cold
While some of us were just trying to feel our fingers, Karen Scott absolutely caught fire with a stunning 41 Stableford points. A round to remember, and a performance that warmed up the whole leaderboard. She also snuck in a two on Hole 7 for good measure – just in case anyone thought it was a fluke.
The Ladies Mean Business
If the fellas were struggling to get going in the frost, the ladies certainly weren’t. Four of the top five were women, and it’s fair to say they handled the tough conditions like pros.
Two for One on the Tough Par 3
Hole 7 – usually the course’s favourite place to collect golf balls and dreams – gave up multiple twos today. We’re not sure what changed, but if you made a two, go buy a Lotto ticket. You’re clearly on a heater.
Special mentions:
Karen Scott, Ngaire Hayes, Moonseok Kang, and Lewis Ferguson all walked off with a two. The greens didn’t stand a chance.
Longest Putt – With a Twist
Jeri Elliot claimed the Longest Putt on 18 – nice work! Though we must say... there was another putt that might have beaten it, if a certain someone (you know who you are) had remembered to write their name on the board. Tough lesson: no name, no fame.
Other Standout Scores
Julianne Bowman and Bill Grant both carded excellent 39s
Ngaire Hayes, Matt Cowen, Jeri Elliot, and Ann McDowell all finished on 38
Solid efforts all round from Byron Roff, Kay Shaw, Carolyn McIsaac, David Grant, and Tilly Grant – each bringing in 36 or 37 points
That's the wrap! A big thanks to everyone who braved the cold, turned in a card, and gave the greens a good run. Whether you scored 41 or just scored yourself a bacon sandwich at the end, we’re glad you were out there.
See you next week,
The Queenstown ProShop Team
