Tuesday 17th June 2025 | Ladies 9-Hole Par Competition
A Frosty Start, But Spirits Stayed Warm
The mercury dropped, the greens glistened, and the thermals came out in full force—Tuesday kicked off with a crisp frost and a 90-minute delay. But that didn’t stop our hardy ladies from teeing it up once the thaw rolled through.
With both the 18-hole and 9-hole competitions combined into a single 9-hole event, we saw great energy, lovely camaraderie, and plenty of rosy cheeks (from the cold and the golf alike).
Competition Highlights
Despite the shorter format, the competition was anything but dull:
-
Melanie Henderson topped the leaderboard with a tidy +3 score, earning herself the top prize.
-
Cisca McNay also finished on +3 and followed closely behind on countback.
-
Steady efforts from Fiona Arbuckle and Ann McDowell on +2 added to a tight pack at the top.
-
A trio of one-overs from Sally Hogg, Sue Gain, and Ella Wilson rounded out the prize list.
Well played to all who made it out—short and sharp proved to be the order of the day!
Special Mentions
A pair of sharp shots and steady nerves deserve their moment in the sun:
-
Marti Groves claimed Nearest the Pin on 11—beating the frost and the field with a cracking tee shot.
-
Jocelyn Davis judged the line and pace to perfection, walking off 18 with the longest putt of the day.
Each walked away with $10 credit, and the kind of grin that only comes from a job well done
That’s a Wrap!
The combined comp was a hit, and the clubhouse was abuzz with tales of frosty fairways, mystery bounce-outs, and which gloves are actually the warmest. Thanks to all our members who made the day such a success despite the chilly start.
We’ll see you back next week—hopefully with a little more sunshine and slightly fewer layers required.
Warm wishes from the Pro Shop Team
