Queenstown Ladies Golf Results Wrap-Up

For those who came, conquered, or just came for the coffee.

18-Hole Ladies – Swing Queens Edition

What a cracker of a day on the fairways – a bit of sun, a bit of breeze, and a whole lot of talent on display. Whether your golf ball obeyed you or had a mind of its own, you were out there doing it, and that’s what counts. But let’s have a squiz at the scoreboard stars:

Marie Wilkinson – 39 points (16 hcp)
Absolutely on fire! Marie didn’t just play golf – she gave a masterclass. Queenstown’s new fairway queen! ??

Sue Brewin – 38 points (26 hcp)
Another top round from Sue – steady, strong, and stylish as ever. That brew’s working wonders. ?

Carolyn McIsaac – 38 points (19 hcp)
Tied with Sue but edged out on countback – Carolyn’s swing is smoother than a Central Otago pinot. ??

Honourable Mentions:

  • Karen Troon – 37 points (80 off the stick!!): Classy effort with a low handicap, that's skill!

  • Annie Han & Heather Atkinson – 36 points: Great scoring in a tricky breeze!

From 35 points down to those who heroically brought up the rear (no names mentioned… ahem), well done for giving it a nudge and keeping the spirit alive. You’re the heart of the clubhouse – and the future quiz night MVPs.

NTP - Nola Pratt
LSP - Karen Troon
Birdies - #4 - Karen Troon
Net Eagles - #2 - Karen Troon and Judy Sim
Two's - Taking the pot solo was Heather Atkinson on #14.  Well done Heather!!

9-Hole Ladies – Mighty Swingers Mini-Tour

A big cheer for the 9-holers, proving yet again that you don’t need 18 holes to have a whole heap of fun!

Ella Wilson – 20 points (23 hcp)
Ella’s got the magic touch! Great swing, great score – leading the charge like a pro.  She also made a longer putt than anyone else at the right place in the right time!

Dorothy Williamson – 19 points (22 hcp)
Dot’s putting like a wizard – just enough spark to keep the pressure on!

Marti Groves – 19 points (6 hcp)
Off a handicap of 6? That’s top-shelf golfing. Watch out folks, Marti’s dialled in.

Special nod to Sharon Burke and Barbara Nind with 17 and 16 respectively – chipping away like champions. And to Francie McDowellJudy Stephens, and the always-smiling Cisca McNay, thanks for keeping the laughs coming and the balls (mostly) out of the bushes.

Final Word:

To the birdie-makers, bunker-rakers, and cart-chatter legends – thanks for another brilliant week of golf and good humour. Whether you were a fairway fairy or a rough rebel, we loved having you out there.

Until next time – swing smooth, laugh loud, and don’t forget your tees (or your wine voucher).
