A Breezy Tuesday Full of Par-fect Performances
It was one of those classic Queenstown golf days — blue skies, a mischievous whisper from Lake Wakatipu, and enough wind shifts to make you second-guess every club in the bag. But despite the ever-changing conditions, some truly fine golf was played across both the 18- and 9-hole competitions.
Let’s dive into the highlights and heroics that had the clubhouse buzzing well into the afternoon!
Overall 18-Hole Par Results
1st – Dezlee Risby (+3)
Dezlee once again showed why she’s a consistent force in the field. Steady rhythm, a reliable short game, and calm confidence saw her take the day’s top spot. A classy performance worth every cent of her $25 prize.
2nd – Ngaire Hayes (+3)
3rd – Ann McDowell (+2)
4th – Annie Han (+2)
5th – Dean Corry (Even)
Twos Club – Accuracy in Action
Two players took precision to another level, finding the cup in two and cashing in $11 each:
Nicely done, gentlemen — that’s how you turn precision into prize money.
Birdie Draw – Hole 5 Delight
Tom James wasn’t finished with his winning ways — he also scooped the Drawn Birdie Hole on No. 5, adding another $22 to his tally. It’s safe to say Tom’s round was equal parts class and cash.
Net Eagles – Hole 12 Triumph
Cheli Larsen swooped in to take the Net Eagles Draw on Hole 12, earning herself $22. That’s the kind of result that turns a good round into a great one — congratulations, Cheli!
Special Prizes
-
Longest Putt (9th) – Annie Han rolled in a beauty that had her playing partners cheering. Smooth tempo, perfect read, and a $10 reward for her efforts.
-
Nearest the Pin – Judy Sim dialled in her approach beautifully, claiming the prize and proving that accuracy is just as powerful as distance on a windy day.
9-Hole Competition – Focused and Fierce
The 9-hole players showed that quality always beats quantity, with tight scoring and brilliant play across the board.
1st – Leonie Williamson (+2)
Leonie was in top form, navigating the front nine with confidence and class to finish on +2 for the win. She also doubled up by taking out the Longest Putt on the 18th, proving her putter was as hot as her game.
2nd – Trish Lund Jackson (+1)
Trish kept Leonie honest all round, finishing just one stroke behind in second place. A fine performance and a smile that said she’ll be back to claim the top spot next time.

Wrapping It Up
It was another spectacular Tuesday at Queenstown Golf Club — a day of skill, laughter, and a fair bit of wind-induced muttering. Between Tom’s birdie, Cheli’s eagle, Annie’s magic putt, and Leonie’s double honours, there was plenty to celebrate.
As always, thanks to everyone who turned up, teed off, and contributed to another great day of golf. Until next time — may your swings stay smooth, your putts stay true, and your golf balls stay out of the lake!
