Hi everyone,
Welcome back after Christmas!
Santa must’ve been very good to the membership this year — there were smiles everywhere on the tee, and for quite a few players, those smiles were still firmly in place when they walked back into the clubhouse. The course was buzzing, the banter was flowing, and the golf… well, some of it was downright spectacular.
Here’s how our Saturday Stableford played out.
Saturday Stableford – Placegetters
1st – Lewis Ferguson – 44 points – $35
Take a bow. Lewis produced an absolute blinder, shooting a personal best 65 and racking up 44 Stableford points. Carrying on exactly where he left off with his birthday form before Christmas, Lewis looked like he had birdie chances on nearly half the holes. That handicap is about to drop like a tonne of bricks.
2nd – Russell Thoms – 40 points – $30
3rd – Tim McCormick – 40 points – $30
Both Russell and Tim put together cracking rounds to chase the leader home, just edged by Lewis’ fireworks.
4th – Julie Grant – 39 points – $25
5th – John “Boggy” McDowell – 39 points – $25
Consistent, controlled golf from both, keeping the pressure on all day.
6th – Peter Stevenson – 38 points – $20
7th – Matt Evans – 38 points – $20
8th – Neil Watson – 38 points – $20
A three-way tie on 38 shows just how tight the leaderboard was.
9th – Christopher Heald – 37 points – $15
10th – Cory Bellingham – 36 points – $10
11th – Melanie Henderson – 36 points – $10
12th – Sue Brewin – 36 points – $10
Plenty of depth in the scoring — great signs for the new year.
Birdies & Eagles – Plenty of Action
Birdies Draw – Hole 15
The birdies draw landed on Hole 15, with the following players picking up $15 each:
-
Corey Sinteur
-
Lewis Ferguson
-
Bradley Cross
-
Tim McCormick
And yes — while Lewis was busy winning the comp, he probably could’ve entered the birdies draw on most of the holes. A truly outrageous round.
Net Eagles Draw – Hole 17
Sue Brewin swept the entire Net Eagles pot, collecting $61 — a very tidy addition to her Stableford prize. Well played, Sue.
Eagle Bonus – Extra Spice
Lewis wasn’t finished there either. His eagle on Hole 12 earned him a Korean Fried Chicken voucher. We’re officially requesting that Lewis talk us through that one — shot by shot — preferably while we’re all eating the chicken.

Twos – Quality Over Quantity
Adam didn’t get nearest the pin on 11 (and it wasn’t overly close), so that must’ve been an absolute world-class putt to get his two. Those are the ones you remember.
Nearest the Pins
Sharp iron play from both — Lewis again finding a way onto yet another prize list.
Longest First Putt – A New Twist
For the first time, the Longest First Putt was set on the 8th green, and it was claimed by Tony Moran.
A decent-sized putt too — and we’re not ruling out that two helpings of Christmas pudding may have helped give it that extra roll. Neat Meat voucher well earned.
Random Card Draw
Always nice to see a bit of luck spread around.
A Quick Pro Shop Note
Over the holiday period, the Pro Shop will continue using a random number generator to select the Birdies and Net Eagles holes, with rolling starts in play.
The Birdies Board will make its grand return at the first official Medal Day of the year — not far away now.
Wrapping It Up
A fantastic way to welcome everyone back after Christmas — great golf, plenty of laughs, and one seriously hot round from Lewis Ferguson to set the tone for the year ahead.
If this is how we’re starting, 2026 is going to be a lot of fun.
See you all back out there soon,
