Saturday Club Day – 28 March 2026

Another cracking Saturday at Queenstown Golf Club, with Stableford on the cards and the option to pick your own tee colour. A few brave souls took up the challenge and went wandering off to different tee blocks, while the rest of us stuck with what we know and hoped for the best.

It was a dewy start early on, but by about 10:00am it was short sleeves all round… well, almost all round. TJ was in his Autumn/Spring uniform. The reward was glorious sunshine, and conditions that made you feel like scoring should be easy. As always, that depended entirely on who you asked.

Club Champs Update

Great to see a few more Club Champs matches played today. Some hard-fought battles out there and a few slightly more comfortable strolls through.

We are now just waiting on finalists to be confirmed for the Senior Men’s, Intermediate Men’s and Junior Men’s divisions.

A big result in the Intermediate A, with Adam Dawson getting the win to move into the final where he will face Chris Heald.

And in the Ladies Silver, Ruby Lee had a strong win over Suzanne Vidak and will now meet Kerry Connor in the final.

Lost Property- Cinderella, where for art thou?

A mystery to finish the day. A pair of men’s black Hyperflex golf shoes, size 10.5, were left in the carpark… with the laces still done up.

Whoever owns them must have been in a serious hurry to get home before the clock struck 12 for lunch. Either that, or they played so well they floated straight out of them.

If they’re yours, they’re safe in the Proshop.
