A Day of Great Golf & Even Better Stories
Another classic Tuesday on the course – a mix of brilliant golf, “learning opportunities”, and at least a few balls that are now permanent residents of Queenstown’s finest rough.
Let’s get into it…
18-Hole Stableford – The Big Guns
1st Suzanne Vidak – 35 points
Cool, calm, and clearly in control – Suzanne takes top honours and the bragging rights this week. A tidy round and $30 to boot!
2nd Ngaire Hayes – 32 points
A strong round from Ngaire, proving once again that handicap is just a number (especially when you beat half the field).
3rd Margaret Carlsson – 32 points
Matching Ngaire on points and keeping things very competitive – great consistency out there.
Shoutouts from the Field
- Marie Wilkinson – 30 points and also snagged Nearest the Pin – not a bad day at the office!
- Judy Sim – also on 30 points, proving the low markers still mean business.
And to everyone else – whether you shot lights out or just enjoyed the scenery between shots – well done for getting round. Some of those holes were playing tricks today… and no, we’re not blaming the wind (entirely).
Special Mentions
- David Grant – cleaned up like he owned the place: Net Eagles, Longest Putt, and Nearest the Pin. Save some for the rest of us, mate!
- Kris Brewin – Birdies Draw winner – sometimes it’s not how, it’s just that it happens!
9-Hole Stableford – Short Course, Big Effort
Proof that 9 holes can still deliver plenty of drama (and a few “how did that happen?” moments).
1st Helen Thomas – 17 points
A great round to take the win – steady as she goes and walking away with the top prize.
2nd Gilda St George – 16 points
Right on Helen’s heels – a very tidy effort and keeping things interesting to the end.
3rd Tricia Lund-Jackson – 16 points
Matching second place on points – a great showing and right in the mix.
Special Mention
- Jackie Phillips – Longest Putt winner – clearly had the radar dialled in!
Final Word
Whether you were chasing birdies, dodging bunkers, or just happy to make contact most of the time – it’s all part of the fun.
Golf: the only game where you can have a shocker, laugh about it, and still be first in line for the next round.
See you all next week – same time, same place… and hopefully fewer visits to the trees.
