Easter Saturday Medal – Blue Tees, Blue Lips & Brave Souls

Well… that escalated quickly.

After yesterday’s Goldilocks conditions, Saturday delivered a full wardrobe change – blue tees to match the blue weather, blue fingers, and slightly blue enthusiasm. Cold, damp, and just enough bite in the air to question life choices… yet still a solid turnout of committed (or slightly stubborn) golfers.

Medal day always separates the brave from the very brave – and today did exactly that.

Five hardy ladies braved the Arctic blast and their results will be held over to combine with this coming Tuesday results.

Division Results – Medal Day Glory

Now that is how you handle miserable conditions. An outstanding score and comfortably the performance of the day!

 2nd-John Ennis – Nett 69 – $25
 3rd-Tom Devonish & Jim Cullen – Nett 70 – $20
4th & 5th Ross McFarlane & Alson Foo – Nett 71 – $15

Twos – Rare as Sunshine Today

Only two twos today (which tells you plenty about the conditions):

  • Michael Taylor – $23
  • Shane Wairau – $23

 Specials & Stories

  •  Birdies Draw (Hole 9) – and would you believe it… Jack Pot finally showed up again after a long absence. Not pretty, but effective. $50 heading his way.
  • Net Eagles (Hole 5) – shared between:
Alson Foo, Gavin Hastings, and Joe Potter – $16 each
  •  Unlucky Moment of the Day – poor Bruce Boivin, who holed a wedge on 16… only to find it didn’t count for anything. That one might sting for a while.
  •  Random Card DrawAlan Gaunt takes home $50 credit just for getting the card in. Sometimes it pays to simply survive the conditions!

NTP and LFP- we are sorry that there aren't any results for these, either the Easter Bunny stole them or the Pro Shop had a brain fart.

Final Word

A proper winter teaser – tough conditions, great scoring from a few standouts, and plenty of stories for the clubhouse.

And just a friendly reminder for all club days:
Only printed cards are to be used.
- They are not to be used alongside your digital card.
- So pop the phone away and focus on producing a nice, neat paper card – your playing partners (and the handicap committee) will thank you.

See you next week… hopefully with a little less “character building” weather.
