Tuesday's Ladies 9 Hole Stableford delivered another afternoon of competitive golf, with plenty of strong scoring throughout the field and a finish that featured two special prize moments worthy of the highlight reel. The weather returned to the crisp June days we know and love and some strong scoring followed suit.
Leading the way was Sue Gain, who put together an excellent round of 21 points to claim top spot and the winner's cheque. Behind her was a remarkably crowded leaderboard, with Abbe Moffatt, Robyn Bitcheno, Shelley Skinner and Francie McDowell all finishing on 20 points. It was one of those days where every point mattered and a single missed putt could mean the difference between climbing the leaderboard and joining the traffic jam.

Special Prizes
Nearest to the Pin - Hole 2 - Annette Fea - $20 Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Voucher
Nearest to the Pin belonged to Annette Fea, whose tee shot took the scenic route to success. The ball scared the hole on its way past before finally coming to rest just three feet away. While it may not have dropped for the elusive ace, it was certainly close enough to earn the admiration of her playing partners and the $20 Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Voucher.
Longest Putt Hole 9 – Sue Wilson – $25 Neat Meat Voucher
Meanwhile, the Longest Putt competition was saved until the very last hole of the day. Sue Wilson finished her round in dream fashion, standing over a putt from well outside 30 feet and calmly rolling it into the middle of the cup. There can’t be many better ways to finish a round of golf than watching a monster putt disappear on the final green, and Sue's effort earned her the $25 Neat Meat Voucher.
Congratulations to all of our prize winners and thanks to everyone who played. With scores tightly packed, near-aces, and a 30-foot bomb dropping on the final green, Tuesday's competition had a little bit of everything that makes golf such a wonderful and occasionally maddening game.
