If anyone wandered onto the course today without checking the calendar, they'd have been forgiven for thinking winter had quietly packed its bags. It was almost spring-like out there, with mild temperatures, calm conditions and sunshine making for a glorious day on the course.

And if the weather was warm… the scoring was positively red hot!

Today's leaderboard was so competitive that playing better than your handicap was a prerequisite just to earn a prize. There were no easy dollars handed out today, with quality golf on display right across the field.

Leading the charge was Jenny Browne, whose superb 21 Stableford points earned her a well-deserved victory. Behind her, it was incredibly tight, with Genevieve Herron, Karen Troon and Sue Knowles all finishing on 20 points, sharing the runner-up honours after excellent rounds. Francie McDowell, Sue Gain and Ann McDowell also played better than their handicaps with 19 points, underlining just how competitive the scoring was from top to bottom.

The special prizes were shared by two different ladies. Marie Wilkinson claimed the Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Nearest to the Pin voucher with the shot of the day, while Karen Troon capped off her excellent round by sinking the Longest Putt, collecting the Neat Meat Voucher to go with her share of second place. That's a pretty handy day's work!

Congratulations to all of today's prize winners. It was one of those rare winter afternoons where the weather felt more like October than August, and the golf certainly matched the conditions. With scores this good, the competition was fierce from start to finish, proving that when the sun comes out, so do the birdies—and you'd better have your A-game if you want a share of the prize money!
