Well, Spring's ever-changeable weather was out in full force again today, with conditions seemingly determined to keep everyone guessing. One minute you're wondering whether you need another layer, the next you're thinking about sunscreen - and somewhere in between there's usually a bit of rain thrown in for good measure!

At this point, a Queenstown meteorologist must surely be one of the highest-paid jobs in the country. Never mind forecasting three days ahead, just successfully predicting what we'll get between the 1st and 9th tee would be achievement enough!

Despite the weather keeping everyone on their toes, there was some excellent golf on display in both the men's and ladies' 9 Hole Stableford competitions.

Men's 9 Hole Stableford

David Walker came out on top with an excellent 22 points, edging Ryan Lewers, who also finished on 22, to claim the top prize of $30. This is David's second Saturday comp win in a 4 week period, so we figured what better time to reuse the above banner. Michael Taylor rounded out third place on the podium with a very tidy 21 points.

There was plenty of depth to the scoring too, with three players finishing on 20 points and another three on 19.

Steve Ridley claimed the Nearest to the Pin, earning the $20 Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's voucher.

Meanwhile, Aidan Lewers took out the Longest Putt. He pocketed the $25 Neat Meat voucher with a lovely putt on a green nearing the precipice of resembling more a puddle than a green!

Ladies' 9 Hole Stableford

The ladies weren't going to let the men have all the fun, with Ann McDowell producing the winning round of 21 points to take first place and $15.

Jenny Browne followed closely with 20 points, while Sue Wilson rounded out the ladies' podium with a very respectable 19 points.

Congratulations to all of today's prize winners. Spring may still be trying to decide exactly what sort of weather it wants to deliver, but thankfully the golfers seem to be a little more decisive!

Whatever the forecast says tomorrow, we'd recommend checking again approximately 17 times before breakfast. That's about as reliable as spring gets around here!
