If today was anything to go by, spring has finally decided to make its first appearance of the season! The ladies were greeted by what might just be the most perfect day for golf we've seen in a while—warm temperatures, not a breath of wind and, judging by the number of short-sleeved polos making an appearance, a few members were more than happy to finally shed a layer or two!
The conditions were so good that the golf clearly decided to join in, with some excellent scoring across the field. 21 points was a prerequisite to make the prizes, one of the highest stableford scoring days we've ever seen, with almost half the field carding 19 points or better!
Leading the way was Jenny Browne, who produced a fantastic 23 Stableford points to take the win and $25 on a countback. But Jenny certainly wasn't having it all her own way, with Judy Stephens and Dorothy Williamson also carding 23 points to share the remaining podium places.
Ladies' 9 Hole Stableford Results
1st – Jenny Browne – 23 pts – $25
2nd – Judy Stephens – 23 pts – $20
3rd – Dorothy Williamson – 23 pts – $20
4th – Vicki Buckham – 22 pts – $15
5th – Sue Gain – 22 pts – $15
6th – Sharon Burke – 22 pts – $15
7th – Tyree Denise Birch – 21 pts – $10
8th – Sue Wilson – 21 pts – $10
That's a pretty impressive leaderboard, with three players sharing the lead on 23 points and another three just one point further back. Clearly, when the sun comes out, the ladies know exactly what to do with it!
Special Prizes
Genevieve Herron showed plenty of nerve on the 2nd hole, producing the shot of the day to claim the Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Nearest to the Pin voucher. A quality shot on a day when the conditions were certainly conducive to good golf!
Then, playing in the second-last group of the day, Cisca McNay decided to leave her best until last. She rolled in a fantastic 10-metre putt to claim the Neat Meat Longest Putt honours. That's one way to sign off your round in style!

$20 Life Pharmacy Wilkinson's Voucher
Longest Putt – Cisca McNay
$25 Neat Meat Voucher
Congratulations to Jenny, Judy and Dorothy on their 23-point efforts, and well done to everyone who made the most of such spectacular golfing conditions.
After a winter of layers, frost and the occasional southerly trying to blow us off the course, warm temperatures and short sleeves felt pretty luxurious today. Let's hope this isn't just spring teasing us before disappearing again!
More sunshine, more good golf and plenty more short sleeves, please! Surely it's not too much to ask?
