Men’s 4BBB Stableford – Partnerships in the Winter Sun

Saturday’s 4BBB Stableford was all about teamwork. The pairs format always delivers plenty of banter, a little strategy, and the occasional heroic rescue shot — and today’s field didn’t disappoint. Despite the crisp winter air, the scoring was impressive across the board, with several teams battling it out right to the end.

Overall Prize Winners

  • 1st: John Consitt & Corey Sinteur – 45 pts – $25 each – teamwork at its finest, finishing two clear above the pack to finish top of the podium.

  • Tied (2nd): Andrew Gunn & John (Boggy) McDowell, Michael Taylor & Matt Groves, Brett Gameren & Steven Ridley, Danny King & James Sowerby, Ken McKenzie & Brent Carlsson – 43 pts – $20 each – rounding out a tight five-way tie with some solid scoring.

  • Tied (3rd) Darren Hill & Aaron Henderson and Tim Myers & Joe Potter – 42 pts – $17 each – proving that consistency is key in this format.

  • 4th: Doug MacGillivray & Russell Thoms – 41 pts – $15 each – securing the final prize spot with a tidy effort.

Twos Money

($10 each) – Danny King, Brad Stewart, Stephen Potts, James Berryman, David Harding, Darren Hill, and Terry Doherty all showed precision with twos on the day.

Birdies Woooo – Hole 3

The Birdie prize went to Ron Cusick, pocketing a very handy $135. That’s one way to brighten a winter’s afternoon!

Net Eagles – Hole 8

The mystery JackPot rolls over again, with no winners this week. The pot is growing nicely — will someone cash in soon!

Special Prizes

  • Longest Putt – Hole 18: Peter Annakin – $30 Neat Meat voucher – a beautifully judged roll on the last green.

  • Nearest The Pin – Hole 11: Reuben Williams-Warren – $20 Neat Meat voucher – dialled in with a sharp iron.

  • Nearest The Pin – Hole 17: Frank Garthwaite – $20 Neat Meat voucher – closest of the lot.

  • Random Card Draw: Russell Thoms – $50 credit – a lucky bonus to end the day.

Ladies Stableford – A Three-Way Thriller

The ladies might have had fewer numbers than the men, but the drama was all theirs. With three players locked on the same score, it came down to a nail-biting countback to separate the podium — winter golf at its finest!

Overall Prize Winners

  • 1st: Sally Hicks-Beach – 36 pts – $25
Kept her composure in the chilly conditions and edged it on countback — proof that every single putt really does count.

  • 2nd: Julie Grant – 36 pts – $20
Lady Captain matched the winner shot-for-shot but just missed out on top spot. A classy round that deserved more.

  • 3rd Kerry Conner – 36 pts – $15
Right in the mix to the very end, Kerry’s steady play secured a share of the drama-packed finish.

Twos Money

($7 each) – Jenny Browne and Carolyn McIsaac. Both showed their accuracy, knocking in tidy twos when it mattered.

Birdies Woooo– Hole 9

($15) – Marti Groves picked up the birdie prize with a fine finish on the tricky 9th hole.

Net Eagles – Hole 8

($15) – Genevieve Herron produced the highlight of her round with a net eagle on the 8th.

Special Prizes

  • Longest Putt – Hole 18: Annie Han – $10 credit – judged it perfectly on the final green.

  • Nearest The Pin – Hole 11: Jenny Browne – $10 credit – accuracy rewarded with the NTP prize.

Final Word

It was a crisp winter’s day, but the golf was anything but cold. The men’s 4BBB produced teamwork at its finest, with John Consitt & Corey Sinteur shining brightest, while the ladies delivered a nail-biting three-way tie that was only settled by countback. Add in Ron Cusick’s big birdie payday, a few icy twos, and the jackpot still waiting to be cracked — it was a Saturday full of stories for the clubhouse, and below is a fine photo of some sharp shooters who shared a spot on the podium today. Thanks for coming!
