Beryl Stephens 4BBB Ladies Trophy – A Special Day at QGC

Today was a truly memorable chapter in the history of Queenstown Golf Club as we celebrated the final of the Beryl Stephens 4BBB Ladies Trophy. What made the occasion even more meaningful was the presence of Beryl’s family, who travelled from Melbourne to be with us.

Beryl, who passed away in 2012, was a deeply valued and active member of our Club. Her contribution to our community lives on through this event, and it was an honour to host her family as part of today’s celebrations.

Playing in the competition today were:

  • Rod Collins – Beryl’s son

  • AnnMarie Collins – Rod’s wife

  • Josh Collins – Grandson, and winner of today’s QGC NTP on 11

  • Jett Collins – Grandson

Also with them was Michaela, Beryl’s granddaughter, who looked after 3½-month-old Clementine, Beryl’s great-granddaughter. Both braved the conditions out on course before being happily spoiled by the team in the Clubhouse.

The family arranged their five-day stay in Queenstown specifically to attend the final and present the Trophy — a gesture that speaks volumes about the legacy Beryl left with us.

Today’s Final:
Jeri Elliott & Sally Hicks-Beach vs Nola Pratt & Tyree Birch

After a match full of highlights — and more birdies than the pond on the 15th — Jeri and Sally claimed victory 2/1. A fantastic effort from all four players and a fitting showcase for an event steeped in Club history.

Great people. Great day. Great history.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this occasion so special.
