The Open Sweepstake – A Global Affair!

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who entered our Open Championship Sweepstake! With entries flooding in from our loyal locals and even as far afield as Peebles, Scotland, we’re officially going global. That’s right – someone from the Borders is riding the Queenstown vibe straight into Royal Portrush.

Thanks again for the support and best of luck to all our entrants. May your picks be accurate, your bets be bold, and your couch-viewing snacks be plentiful.

Z Energy Mixed Stableford – A Risby Ripper

It was tight at the top, but Bruce Risby rose above the field with a strong 40 points, taking the win and collecting both the Birdie Draw and top prize in one clean swing.

Hot on his heels:

• Darren Hill – 39 pts (and a birdie to boot!)

• Neil Watson – 38 pts – steady and solid

• Ian Browne – 37 pts

• A logjam of 36-pointers shared 5th through 10th, including David Grant, Michael Wong, Bruce Cunningham, Ron Carter, and Richard Thomas.

It was the kind of leaderboard that keeps the printer busy and the countbacks busy.

Special Prizes – Precision & Power

• Twos were rare but classy – only two players found the cup in one on a par 3:

  • Marie Wilkinson and Michael Wong – each took home a crisp $28 for their short-game magic.

• Birdies Draw:

  • Bruce Risby and Darren Hill – both rewarded again for their red numbers.

• Net Eagle:

  • Greg Kerr cashed in a tidy $56 – proof that sometimes two shots really are better than three.

• Nearest the Pin:

  • Dezlee Risby and John Leith – precise and proud.

• Longest Putt:

  • Mike Gain and Karen Scott – proving once again that distance doesn’t matter… until it drops!
