Queenstown Golf Club – Thursday Z Energy Stableford Wrap

Thursday 24th July 2025
“One ace, one tap-in eagle, and a field full of fire”

A Round to Remember – Consitt’s Career Highlight

It was a red-letter day for John Consitt, who delivered what every golfer dreams of – his first-ever hole-in-one, and he did it in style on Hole 14. With nerves of steel and the perfect strike, the ball tracked all the way before disappearing into the cup.

“It was like a magic trick – now you see it, now you don’t,” joked John, who went on to pick up the Longest Putt prize as well.

Big Hitting Brilliance – Judkins Nearly Dunks It

Not to be outdone, Liam Judkins gave the spectators something else to gasp about – driving the par-4 8th hole and finishing inches from the pin. With nothing but a tap left, Liam calmly rolled in the easiest eagle two of his life. That kind of power off the tee makes the rest of us consider taking up bowls.

Stableford Results – Steady Scoring Across the Board

With some big fireworks and strong scoring from top to bottom, here’s how the leaderboard shook out:

  • Jonny Chan – 44 points – a dominant round and $35 in the bank

  • Cheli Larsen – 39 pts – strong and steady

  • Bruce Cunningham – 38 pts – always near the top

  • Not far behind: Jim Cullen, Julie Grant, John Consitt, and a whole host tied on 36 points including Robert Freer, Boggy McDowell, Liam Judkins, Danny King, Peter Stevenson, and John McDowell

Special Prizes – Birdies, Net Eagles & Pinseekers

  • Birdies Draw Winners:

    • Darren Hill, Kris Brewin, Gregory Latham – all picked up $22 for their birdies

  • Net Eagles Draw:

    • Four lucky golfers earned $13 each:

      • John “Boggy” McDowell, Sue Cunningham, Rodney “Rainmaker” Clay, and Annette Fea

  • Nearest the Pins & Longest Putt:

    • John Consitt took out the Longest Putt prize, rounding out a day of golfing glory.

A big thank you to Z Energy for sponsoring the event, and to everyone who came out, frost delay and all. We'll see you back out there soon – hopefully with your own moment of magic just around the corner.

Cheers,
