Queenstown Golf Club – Sunday Net Medal Wrap

Sunday 27th July 2025
“Form returns, pins are peppered, and the ladies reign supreme”

Danny’s Back – A Medal-Winning Return to Form

After a few weeks of floating around the fringe, Danny King made a bold return to the winner’s circle today, taking out the Sunday Net Medal with a classy net 68. His irons were hot, the putter obliging, and even the 1st hole surrendered to his precision – where he slotted in a smooth two to grab a share of the Two’s pot.

“It felt good to finally string it all together,” Danny said, grinning like a man who just paid for lunch with Pro Shop credit.

Top of the Leaderboard – Net Medal Results

  • Danny King – 68 – $40

  • Stephen McAteer – 70 – $35

  • Conleth McLarnon – 71 – $30

  • Steven Ridley & Steven Brownlie – 72 – $25 each

  • Jacky Cao – 73 – $20 and more to come...

  • Julianne Bowman – 74 – leading the ladies and grabbing $15

Two’s Club

We had a flood of two's, and the following players picked up $5 each for their early magic:

  • Danny King

  • Jack Niven

  • John Consitt

  • Jacky Cao

  • Julie Grant

  • Julianne Bowman– proving the ladies have touch, too

Nearest the Pin – Dead-Eye Cao

Precision was the name of the game on the 11th hole, and Jacky Cao delivered the goods, taking out the Nearest the Pin prize for an additional $10 credit. A top-up to his Two’s win and Net 73 – not a bad day at the office!

Ladies Interclub Glory – Queenstown Takes the Crown!

A massive congratulations to our Ladies Interclub team, who hosted and triumphed at Queenstown Golf Club today, fending off the best of Central Otago.

With 9 teams of 6 players representing the region, it was our homegrown heroes who rose to the challenge and brought home the honours. Brilliant golf, calm nerves, and a bit of local pride saw them edge ahead – we couldn’t be prouder!

Final Word

A cracking medal round, sharp scoring, and a clubhouse buzzing with celebration – Sunday golf doesn’t get much better than this. Congratulations to all our winners and a hearty toast to the ladies for flying the Queenstown flag so superbly.

See you all next week – and don’t forget to sharpen those wedges. The pins are calling!

Cheers,
Your Queenstown Golf Shop Team
